Consultant
Peter Durning, CPC, CPS, CRC (he/him) is a queer psychiatric abolitionist with schizophrenia who left a career in neuroscience and clinical quality improvement in the Harvard Medical School system to focus on peer support, community wellness, and transformative social justice. Peter organized the first labor union in the history of the Harvard psychiatric center McLean Hospital, which allowed him to hone skills in community driven change, and build capacity for people from less financially advantageous backgrounds to work and live in Boston.
Peter founded Lived Experience Consultants in 2024. He acts as the Lived Experience Policy Chair at the Massachusetts Psychosis Prevention Program, regularly guest lectures across the country and sits on mental health boards for Disability Rights Washington and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
